The Rexford, Mont., station of the Great Northern Railway was established in 1903. It was closed in 1972 when the railroad was rerouted due to the flooding of the area behind the Libby Dam. The company was incorporated (South Dakota) in 1910 to conduct general mining operations, anmd later recieved quartz lode mining claims in Montana.
